School days and can ends at AMP-South America
Published June 13, 2024
The School of Can End Manufacturing was launched at our beverage can facility in Manaus, Brazil – an important milestone for AMP-South America on its path to innovation and operational excellence. The aim is to train new employees and offer training to longer-serving colleagues, providing a dynamic and immersive environment with a wealth of technology and advanced resources. By the end of 2024, there will be more than 15 training stations, including a robot with NR-12 certification (a Brazilian safety standard for industrial machinery), where colleagues can be trained in areas such as materials, quality, continuous improvement, safety, production, tooling, mechanical maintenance and electrical maintenance.
“Having this school – a space dedicated to learning within the Manaus facility – will be fundamental to developing our employees’ knowledge and skills, said Shiva Punjabi, Process Engineer. “As an instructor at the school, I believe that this is just the beginning of a successful journey.”
The launch of this training initiative not only represents an investment in the AMP-South American team but also our commitment to skills development, innovation, quality, safety and excellence. Feedback so far is encouraging, and congratulations are due to all who have worked to bring the plans for the school to fruition.
